Why can’t I print from my eText?

There are a few reasons why you may not be able to print pages from an eText.

  • The option to print does not exist on mobile devices. Some books do not allow printing through the online Reader. It is recommended that you print through the Windows or Mac Reader (available at: https://reader.texidium.com/dist/#/apps).
  • Some publishers place a limit on the number of pages that can be printed from their digital books. This is done to protect their intellectual property from unauthorized reproduction and distribution. The limit varies from book to book. In some cases, printing may not be permitted at all.
  • Extra print restrictions are sometimes applied to books that are made available for free up until the deadline for students to drop or add courses. This is also done to protect publishers’ intellectual property, as it prevents students from maintaining free access to books after they should have been billed for them or lost access to them. In these cases, printing may be permitted after the book has been purchased or the deadline to drop/add courses has passed.
